--Slenderman-- PART 3 --Finale~!--

The silence was almost painful as you and Slender walked through the forest, not even the birds in the trees or the wind blowing through the canopy under the over cast of light grey clouds could break the tension between the two of you. The Slenderman was tall and had a long stride, causing him to glide quickly ahead of you without much effort, he was fast enough that you would have to jog every now and again to make sure you didn't get left behind in the maze-like forest. "Will you keep up?" He asked bluntly as you once again sped up your pace to shorten the distance between the two of you, the sound of your footprints beginning to fill the quiet atmosphere, "It's not my fault! You have longer legs than me, can't you slow down?" Letting out an angry huff he slowed down at your request, finally letting your legs get a little rest, "Thanks..." You say with a small amount of sarcasm and continue to walk beside him, throwing him a glance every so often but normally met with a cold shoulder.

The rest of the walk was quiet to match the gloomy atmosphere that hung around you like a thick cloud, causing you to feel all the more uncomfortable, especially since the sky above was becoming progressively darker as more rain clouds rolled in until there was no sky left to see. "It's gonna rain..." You mumbled as you approached the edge of the forest, the sound of cars driving past relaxing you with the feeling of being close to home, though the Slenderman didn't reply and just stood a little ways away from the entrance for a while, looking at you with his featureless face. You couldn't ever tell what he was thinking, but that made you curious about him, "Thanks for walking me here..." You teased and raised an eyebrow hoping for some kind of reaction but to your dismay he once again stayed silent, briskly turning around and beginning to walk away. Stepping forward you clenched your fists "What's your problem? I didn't do anything to hurt you, did I?" Your voice carried right to him causing him to hesitate slightly but it didn't last for long, he regained composure and continued. You lifted your fist and slammed it hard against a nearby tree, the pain spreading through your hand but you tried to suppress it, "Gah! I just don't get it... Why didn't you just kill me? Why leave me alive...?"

Slender stopped at the end of your sentence, turning to look at you with his hands loosely by his sides causing you to loosen up as well, your eyes soften and you wrap your hand lightly around your bruised knuckles, unable to stay angry at him for long "You're not as bad as they say you know... You don't have to shut yourself away..." You say quietly, not knowing if you really wanted him to hear you. Stepping out into the street you look back to see that Slender had disappeared into the darkness of the forest without a word, muttering under your breath you continue down the sidewalk while staring at the stone slabs littered with trodden gum and wet patches, kicking a small stone at your feet as the clouds above you finally give in and rain starts to pour onto your head. Feeling cold, wet and frustrated you ran down the street grumbling various swear words at the weather, making sure to hop over any puddles that had formed in your way as to not get your feet any wetter than they already were, the last thing you wanted was to catch a cold, another problem to add to your ever growing list. Eventually you got to your friends house and before you could even knock the door opened, your friend at the door with a worried expression upon their face as they put their hands on your shoulders and drag you inside "You're soaked! Quickly! Get inside..." [he/she] scolded and pushed you through their house and into the living room, taking off your wet sweater and placing it roughly on a nearby radiator. The room was its normal level of messiness, clothes on the floor, junk food packets left lying around and whatever else they were too lazy to clean up, although despite that it was always very inviting, and you took pride in knowing that [he/she] cleaned up whenever you were to visit.

Leaving out the details about Slender you explained what had happened while warming up under a soft blanket your friend had given you, as you spoke your friend wrapped [her/his] arms around you for a comforting hug as you began to choke on your words, your tears trickling down your face and dripping onto the blanket around you. "Don't worry about your parents... I'm sure everything will settle down soon. Until then you can stay here for as long as you want. Okay?" They loosen their grip to look at you, moving the hair out of your face and tucking it carefully behind you ears as you nod in reply, just managing to thank them through the snivels and hiccups while using the back of your hand to wipe the tears from your eyes, feeling rather embarrassed but also very grateful for [his/her] care.

Eventually your friend left to tidy up a little for you, leaving you alone with your thoughts and the lonely sound of the rain on the glass doors beside you, a dim yellow light from a lamp filling the room. You stared out of the glass doors to the small garden just outside, your friend didn't really take much care of it but it wasn't overgrown as you would often sit out there together when it was warmer, so you would help them to cut the grass and tend to the few flowers dotted around by the fence. [Best friend's name] must have noticed how distracted you were, watching the rain outside  as your thoughts seemed to drift from your parents to Slender, causing you to slap your hands against your cheeks to stop yourself from feeling any more depressed. "Don't start thinking about him, he wasn't interested..." You whisper to yourself harshly and jump as you feel something nudge your arm, upon lifting it up you see your friend's tabby cat Tom lovingly rubbing his face into you, purring sweetly as if to comfort you. You smile and run your hand down the cat's back as he climbed up onto your lap, padding his paws on your legs then curling up, his soft fur felt so warm under your hand.

Eventually you fell asleep on the couch with Tom purring on your lap, the blanket beginning to slip from your shoulders and onto the surface of the couch while your friend crept around as to not wake you up while they gently pulled the blanket back up over you so you didn't get cold, "Sleep well [Name]..." They said quietly before leaving to go to work, tucking themselves away in a big raincoat, writing you a quick note to explain where they were and finally leaving into the gloomy street. The storm outside got worse the further into the day it became, the rain became heavy and loud sounds of thunder rolled above you as lighting struck the ground around the house,  plunging both the street and the houses on it into darkness as the electricity blacked out around you. It only took a few lighting strikes to wake you up, clutching at the blanket and breathing heavily as both you and Tom became slightly distressed at the loud noises and flashing lights. The cat soon ran off to hide leaving you to fend for yourself, every time the lightning flashed you would close your eyes tightly and squeak as it was louder than you had ever heard it before "I've got to- c-close the curtains!" You stammered to yourself and struggled to get to your feet, reaching out to the long curtains that hung by the glass doors and attempting to pull them together. Before you could close them however, another bolt of lightening lit up the sky, illuminating a figure stood by the door, looking in with his hand rested on the glass, with a small amount of condensation forming around his long fingers.

Staggering backwards you let out a startled cry and stare at the person at the glass doors, his black suit completely soaked with the rain dripping down his featureless face. "S-Slender!" You breathe and stand up, quickly sliding the glass door open to let him inside as well as a big gust of wind which blew your [h/c] hair into your face. With some help from the Slenderman you managed to close the door again, somehow managing to avoid making a mess before sitting down on the couch again. "W-What are you doing here...?" You ask and use your hands to sort out your wind swept hair while Slender sat down beside you quietly, glancing over every now and again, "I wanted to talk to you..." He sounded slightly out of breath as he spoke which gave you the impression he had ran here. You gave him a kind smile and picked up the blanket in your hands, lifting it up to delicately dab the rain from his face "I'm listening..." You whispered and watched as he breathed in slowly, taking in the smell of the blanket that had been around you for most of the day "I-I apologise for how I acted." He stammered in his usual blunt tone although rather distracted by how close you were to him.

"It's fine." You hum soothingly, moving the blanket down under his chin to his neck, his whole attention focused on you as your hand was placed on his leg, "I never even asked your name..." With a smile you took the blanket away and placed it beside you, leaning in a little closer "I'm [Name]." You say quietly and press your lips against his cheek, "[Name]..." The Slenderman sighed and as you went to pull away he stopped you, sliding his arms around your waist and pulling you towards him into a nice but slightly unexpected embrace. He wavers slightly as you start to giggle and loosens his grip to look at you as if to ask what was so funny but his composure softened as his gaze fell upon your blushing face, "Your clothes are all wet." You laugh and he pulled you closer "Oh? I do apologise." A low chuckle reached your ears as you tried to push him away teasingly only to have him keep a firm hold on you "Was that a hint of arousal I heard?" You purred and he gripped tightly around the back of your shirt "You can't escape." Eventually you shrug and put your hands on his chest, lifting your head to plant another kiss on his skin which he promptly returned, whispering into your ear with a seductive tone "Why don't we take advantage of the darkness~?" Lifting a tentacle to close the curtains behind you, removing your sight and leaving you with just the sense of touch to explore the man who embraced you.
Finally it's here, the last part of this little series. I had a lot of fun writing it but I don't think it came out like I wanted. Meh, maybe I'll revise it sometime :P

My cat was sat in my lap when I wrote this, so you can probably tell where the whole cat scene came from XD
